PTS+ Application Manual
Penetrating Top Seal Plus - Application Guide
Step 1: Surface preparation
- PTS+ is a coating. i.e. it's going to cover anything left on the surface to be treated.
- So, ensure the surface is dry and clean.
- Ensure the surface to be treated will not get wet for at least 24 hours after treatment. No rain, sprinklers etc.
Step 2: Applying PTS+
- Use a hand-pump, Hudson can type sprayer for even, wetting, application.
- Spray back and forth over the same area a minimum 2 to 3 times, overlapping as you move up to the adjoining dry area.
- For vertical surfaces, apply from the bottom up.
- For horizontal surfaces, apply from the low point, i.e. near a drain) up to the high point.
- Apply until the surface stays wet for 5 to 10 seconds.
- Spread any puddles remaining after 30 seconds with a mop or squeegee.
- PTS+ can be applied to anything it does not bead up on.
- It is impossible to apply a second coat of PTS+ over a previously PTS+ treated surface that has dried.
Step 3: Coverage
- Coverage depends on the profile of the concrete surface. i.e. minute hills and valleys of exposed aggregate will require slightly more product than machine trowelled floors.
- Expect 200 to 300 square feet per gallon with the average about 250 square feet per gallon.
Step 4: Curing Time
- The surface treated with PTS+ will air cure in a few hours.
- Do not walk on the wet surface before it air dries.
- Do not allow any vehicular traffic for a minimum 24 hours.
Environmental and Safety Concerns
- PTS+ contains zero VOCs, i.e. it is safe for the environment, animals and plants.
- While safety goggles are not really required, rubber gloves are a good idea.
Clean up
- Clean up hands and tools with soap and water.
